Credit Card (Master, VISA, Amex, Diners mainly) is surely common in Japan but not that much convenient as it is here . You need some cash.

We don’t have ATMs at every block. Very few foreign retail banks are active down there. Citi has some branches, as well as HSBC. No PNC, no… If your Bank card has Alpha plus /Cirrus (see its back), there will be a good chance that you can withdraw at local bank’s ATMs. At any case, be sure to check with your main bank where and how you can get cash before your travel .

Of course you can exchange at the airport – maybe the most stress-free way if you don’t wanna get stuck at the banks in town.

Traveller’s check is valid but you may see the difficulties in cashing them.  No check is accepted in Japan regardless the issuing bank.

Adaptor and Transformer

There seemed to be a bit confusion of these two toys.  You see the picture of trans here – it’ll be brave enough to carry it in… You guys are smart, so don’t even make a try. Japanese customs don’t understand that joke.

Change in the itinerary (Mar. 14th Farewell party)

Venue for the farewell party on Mar. 14th has been changed as follows (previously scheduled to be at Gonpachi) ;

Time : March 14. 2008 (7pm -9pm)

Venue : Mitsubishi Club (Pent house on the Mitsubishi Corp. Global HQ in Marunouchi)

- Details to be posted in the Trek Bulkpack to be distributed to participants later.

The farewell party is generously sponsored by Mitsubishi Corp at its party room (not open to public) in the HQ building where you can enjoy the night skyscraper views in Tokyo.  The company agrees and respects the philosophy of the trek and no recruiting event will be involved.

Rewarding A Hoping for B…

The optional tour sign up was started from 8am this morn, and as many of you have expected, yes we exported the running files every min (yes we did…) . We’ll verify the list and hopefully finalize then by late evening today. Our principle remain unchanged – no partical input will be considered as completed, so those who put the completed information early will get the slot.

And, non, we can’t increase the Sumo capacity - you can still watch it on TV…

Watch out it’s heavy !!

Part of me tells if it does make any sense to state this here, but I better do – Yokoso meeting file was uploaded on this website. (well, you never know unless you check this website, so…) It may take few min to download this file – it’s heavy since all of the organizer’s passion in it  – HUGE !!

Take a moment and vet through it. The sign up log is currently open and editable so that you can see what you are supposed to input.  Be aware that the actual sign up starts straight 8am on Monday, so for those who has already signed up - none of your current inputs are valid. The sign up log will be hidden once completed(we will change slightly so that you can input first and second choice for each option), and show up again on the WGA webcafe on Monday morning.

As being cautioned at the Yokoso meeting, be sure to pick up some for every input, choose N/A for the tours/meals you don’t need. (leaving any blank will put you at the bottom of the list automatically by webcafe) The slot will be allocated at the first come, first served basis – again that’s all we can offer for the time being. I wish you rather enjoy this game, it’s fun !

This is a business school but…

Thank you so much for your keen interest. The second sign up account was opened by another organizer to enhance the fairness. We are aware that some people just put their partial infos on the list initially to secure the seats. Yes, that was  smart.

Having said that, we have discussed internally and agreed that we will forfeit the sign ups with no complete info from the list. Cut off time is 8:02am. You had two minutes to complete all the info, and if you didn’t, then we will give seats for those who did it in the complete way though it took few more seconds.

 We hope you all understand this and wait for the update from us. The list will be verified and finalized by this evening.
